Following the Gujarat Titans vs. Punjab Kings game, Robin Uthappa had a conversation with the media. Shubman Gill’s captaincy versus PBKS was highly lauded by the former IPL player. The youthful captain assisted GT in winning their fourth game of the year. Gill has commanded the team admirably and impressed many experts and fans since Hardik Pandya left GT. Uthappa is thrilled with the young player’s captaincy.
Uthappa expressed his belief that Gill, who is 24 years old, is a gift for Indian cricket when discussing his role in GT’s victory over PBKS. The child has been developing swiftly at a young age, he continued. Thus far, Robin thought Gill’s leadership status had increased. According to the former cricketer for CSK, Gill could lead Indian cricket and help his team win an IPL championship.
Indeed, he seems like a gift for Indian cricket. In the Indian cricket community, I believe he is developing into one of the greatest players of all time. And I think that in the near future, not only will he lead his IPL club but also the Indian squad, as we’ve seen him flourish and develop into a very productive leader,” Robin told the presenters.
At the conclusion, Robin Uthappa said, “He needed someone to play a little bit more aggressively.”
The twice-champion IPL also discussed Gill’s batting performance versus PBKS. Before succumbing, the GT opener amassed 35 runs in just 27 deliveries. For Uthappa, that was an excellent inning. The Karnataka batsman stated that Shubman Gill pitched his inning correctly since he intended to bat the entire inning. Uthappa said that in order to relieve pressure on the star batsman, someone from GT needed to bat vigorously at the other end.
Excellent inning. He attacked his innings in a way that I felt was appropriate because it is crucial that he bats all the way through an inning for GT to win. In order to do that, he needed someone to relieve some of the strain on him towards the end of the game,” Robin Uthappa continued, urging the GT batters to play with more aggression.

Uthappa claimed that Gill gave up his wicket in an effort to force a bigger point. He said that Sai Sudarshan should be the one to bat aggressively and that Gill did not need to do so. Sai is still young and will develop nicely in the coming days, Uthappa agreed. The former Indian cricketer stated in closing that when Sudarshan bats with determination, GT and Shubman Gill will benefit.
“He left at the moment he decided to raise the stakes. He was under no necessity to do that. That was possible for Sai Sudarshan. That being said, I believe Sai Sudarsan’s switch to increasing his strike rate will also occur eventually. Uthappa told the broadcasters, “And when that happens, I think that combination will be great.”
