In the present Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bengaluru exhaled with relief after ending their six-game losing run. The team captained by Faf du Plessis recently faced the hot-starting Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 41st match of the competition and won by a margin of 35 runs, their second victory of the year.
Following a run of six consecutive losses, captain of the RCB, Faf du Plessis, came up after the game to joke that he had forgotten about his post-match press conference duties. It is noteworthy that the losing team’s captain does not show up for the press conference, and it has been a long time since Du Plessis had done so.
However, SRH captain Pat Cummins spoke before veteran batter Du Plessis, who then made the joke, at the post-match presentation ceremony.
“I lost track of how to get to the press conference. Whenever it happens, I simply walk away (laughs). We’ve played fantastic fight in the last two games. In their most recent game, we scored 260 runs to their 270+, and we also lost by a run against KKR. Although there have been some close games, wins are necessary to restore the group’s confidence. “It impacts not only the team but me as well when we lose,” Du Plessis remarked during the post-game awards ceremony.
I’ll have a better night’s sleep tonight. Faf du Plessis
The captain of the RCB also mentioned how happy he was to have won a match after precisely one month. He believed that a team’s confidence cannot be bought and that winning performances are the only way to earn it, which is exactly what the team did against SRH.

I’ll get a better night’s sleep tonight. One cannot project confidence or appear confident in front of a group. Only one’s performance can instill confidence. We did not play to our full ability in the first half. You give it your all, of course, but if you don’t play well—the opposition and teams are that good—you’ll suffer consequences, as the captain of the RCB stated.
