On Sunday, April 27, during the high-stakes match between the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, tensions ran high. In Match 46 of the 2025 Indian Premier League, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul engaged in a verbal sparring match during the second innings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to field first, and the RCB bowlers had an outstanding first innings. They performed admirably, holding seasoned batsmen like KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis in check even after they had been at the crease for a respectable amount of time. Abishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs made daring appearances, but the home team was only able to muster 162/8 in their 20 overs.
After four overs, the RCB had only managed 26 runs after losing three wickets early in the reply. For companionship, Kohli dropped anchor with Krunal Pandya.
Rahul and Kohli’s heated argument provided some fascinating visuals as DC attempted to strangle the more seasoned hitters in the middle overs.
KL Rahul was preparing to take wickets when the RCB mainstay started the conversation by saying something to him.
The Karnataka batsman-wicketkeeper replied with a helpless look on his face. It’s unclear exactly what was being discussed, but it obviously heated up for a short while before play started up again.

RCB takes the table’s top spot.
With Krunal acting as the aggressor, Kohli kept leading RCB in the direction of the goal. In the fifteenth over, the southpaw hit a four to reach his half-century. With just 38 deliveries, he reached the milestone. With a more measured approach, Kohli scored fifty runs off of forty-five balls.
Tim David made a brilliant cameo to help RCB win with six wickets and nine balls remaining after Dushmantha Chameera removed Kohli in the 18th over. But Krunal, who was undefeated at 73 off 47 balls, was the best batter. With this victory, RCB became the first side to reach 14 points in the current edition of the prestigious competition and climbed to the top of the points table.
