Following the recent terrorist assault in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, the IPL 2025 saw the introduction of Vajra Super Shot, an anti-drone device that can identify the movement of unlawful drone activity and aerial threats in real time.

To improve player and spectator safety, the IPL’s regulating body has taken action. In the rain-affected 44th game of the 18th league between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Eden Gardens on April 26, the unique defence technology, developed by Big Bang Boom Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (BBBS) in Chennai, made its IPL debut.

By utilising adaptive frequency technology, the defence system can identify drones within a four-kilometer radius. Additionally, the Vajra Super Shot is portable and lightweight.

The IPL has addressed the need to improve safety at all venues in the wake of the horrific event at Pahalgam. The BCCI’s move to bolster security has been hailed as tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated.

India is accused by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi of exploiting the Pahalgam incident for its own ends.

After the Pahalgam attack, Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, issued a statement criticising India. Naqvi asserted that Pakistan was ready to track down the attackers.

According to Geo News, which Naqvi cited, “Pakistan is ready to fully cooperate with any neutral party conducting a probe, as we seek to expose the real perpetrators behind the attack.”

But in a jab at India, he asserted that their neighbours could not tolerate Pakistan’s economic stability. Naqvi urged everyone to watch how the biggest democracy in the world uses terrorism to further its “objectives.”

India cannot tolerate the economic stability of Pakistan. According to The Express Tribune, which Naqvi cited, “The world must see how the country that claims to be the largest democracy is using terrorism to achieve its objectives.”
