Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will “host” the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match No. 68 of the Indian Premier League 2025 at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. With both teams eliminated from playoff contention, this game will have little influence on the battle among the four playoff teams to finish in the top two spots. A genuine dead rubber, if you will.

This will be both teams’ final match in the tournament. Both teams played their final game versus RCB. The last match between KKR and RCB in Bengaluru was postponed due to heavy rain. That game was abandoned even before the toss.

The IPL decided to shift the RCB-SRH game from Bengaluru to Lucknow due to adverse weather circumstances, similar to those that afflicted the RCB-KKR game. And in Lucknow, SRH won.

Ishan Kishan led the assault, firing with the aggressiveness that SRH had become known for since the beginning of last year. Abhishek Sharma’s start, along with crucial cameos from Aniket Verma and Heinrich Klaasen, reinforced Kishan’s unbroken 94, as SRH set RCB a record chase.

RCB’s chase was going well, with Virat Kohli and Phil Salt leading the way and putting on a strong performance in the first half. Salt’s dismissal eventually set RCB on a downward trajectory. Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma formed a partnership, but RCB lost their final seven wickets for only 16 runs. Pat Cummins and Eshan Malinga were the primary catalysts for the slowdown.

KKR and SRH have already faced off this season. KKR had completely dominated that game in Kolkata. KKR had a difficult start, but Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s fifty gave them some traction. Eventually, Venkatesh Iyer kicked on in the dying overs to give KKR a big total. Vaibhav Arora devastated SRH during the powerplay, and the Orange Army never recovered. KKR’s bowlers started picking up wickets in the middle overs, and Varun Chakravarthy cleaned up the tail.

Player battles to watch out for in SRH vs KKR, Match 68 of IPL 2025:

1. Travis Head vs Vaibhav Arora

For all the fear that Head’s bravado induces in bowlers across the tournament, Arora has seemed unfazed so far. In three balls, Arora has dismissed Head twice in the IPL for just four runs. That computes out to a strike rate of 133.33 but an average of just 2.00.

2. Sunil Narine vs Pat Cummins

In the IPL so far, Narine and Cummins have had a slam-bam thank you man matchup. The Trinidadian has made 25 runs in 11 balls at a strike rate of 227.27 while being dismissed twice at an average of 12.50 against the SRH skipper.
