Pacer Mustafizur Rahman has received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play in the Delhi Capitals’ final three IPL 2025 games after that. DC has a like-for-like replacement in Rahman, who could play in place of Mitchell Starc as the 18th league season returns after a brief break due to security concerns.

In the event that DC qualifies, Rahman will not be available for the playoffs as the BCB has given him a NOC for the dates of May 18–24. On May 17, the outstanding bowler will play for Bangladesh in their maiden Twenty20 International against the United Arab Emirates before to playing in the 2025 Indian Premier League.

Whether Rahman can attend DC’s match versus GT is still up in the air.

Securing Rahman’s NOC was difficult because his contract, which the BCB had previously questioned, was validated by DC and the IPL’s official channels.

An update on DC’s foreign players’ availability

National tensions between Bangladesh and India added to the external pressure on DC to bring Mustafizur Rahman on board. One of DC’s main pacers, Mitchell Starc, withdrew from the rest of the 2025 Indian Premier League. In June, the DC pacer will play South Africa in the WTC final.

Donovan Ferreira, who only played one game for DC, will also not be available. In addition to the other foreign players in DC’s team, the two South Africans, Faf du Plessis and Tristan Stubbs, will play the rest of the 18th IPL league stage alongside the 2020 runners-up.

Stubbs will only be available for DC’s final three league stage games, though. After the league stage is over, the right-handed batter will go to England regardless of DC’s standing in the points table because he has been picked for the WTC final versus Australia.
