In an unfortunate incident, a batter lost his life while playing a local cricket match in Firozpur, which is a city in the Firozpur District of Punjab.
In a shocking video, Harjeet Singh, a local cricketer, was seen smashing a six against a spinner on the leg side. Shortly after the tremendous hit, the batter moved to the centre of the pitch and sat down on his haunches. This isn’t unusual on a cricket pitch; players typically do this to regain their breath. The non-striker must have felt the same way as he sat next to the right-handed batter.
He was completely taken aback as the right-handed batter collapsed to the ground, face first. All of the players hurried to Harjeet, attempting to figure out what had happened to him. When they realised he was unconscious, they attempted CPR to resuscitate him. However, despite their best attempts, Harjeet was unable to recover.
Harjeet could not be saved and was pronounced dead on the spot, reportedly due to cardiac arrest. The footage has shocked and devastated the cricketing community. Many cricket lovers left comments on the video, offering their sympathies to Harjeet’s family. A couple of them also questioned why such tragedies occur so regularly.
