In Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) most recent IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League) matchup versus Chennai Super Kings (CSK), captain Rajat Patidar sustained a finger injury. Interestingly, the game took place on May 3 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
As Jitesh Sharma assumed leadership duties, the RCB captain was expected to miss the match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). However, because of the cross-border conflict between India and Pakistan, the IPL was halted for a week on May 9.
On Saturday, May 17th, RCB will host the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 18th edition of the lucrative tournament. Fans worry about Patidar’s fitness and whether he has been able to use the one-week break to his advantage and recover from his finger injury, even though RCB is in a great position on the league standings and only needs one victory from their last three games to qualify for the playoffs.
To save his injuries from becoming worse, the 31-year-old was photographed wearing a splint. However, a recent social media video shows Rajat Patidar batting against a fast bowler at the RCB nets. The Madhya Pradesh batsman is thought to be fully recovered from his injury and will be able to play on Saturday.

RCB hopes to make the IPL 2025 playoffs.
In 11 games, RCB has amassed 16 points, winning eight and dropping just three. With 186 runs at an average of 37.20 and a strike rate of 161.73 in his first five innings, Patidar made a strong start to the season as a batsman. He only scored 78 runs at an average of 13 and a strike rate of 100 over the following six, though.
Notably, Bangalore defeated KKR at the Eden Gardens in the curtain raiser to begin their IPL 2025 campaign. In order to secure their place in the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons, they will attempt to defeat Ajinkya Rahane and company.
