On Sunday, April 27, during Match 45 of the current Indian Premier League between the Mumbai Indians and the Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium, Suryakumar Yadav made a brilliant catch to dismiss Nicholas Pooran. After the powerplay ended, Pooran had to return to the pavilion on the first ball of the run-chase.
Will Jacks’ tossed-up delivery was lofted down the earth by Pooran, but the aerial drive was unsuccessful. The West Indian southpaw was forced to leave for 27 (15), and Suryakumar, who was stationed at long off, ran left, surged, and leaped forward in his follow-through while maintaining total control.

Earlier in the evening, MI was allowed to bat first and ended up scoring 215/7 thanks to a 54-run effort from Suryakumar off 28 balls.
With a quickfire 25 at the end, Naman Dhir remained undefeated, while wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton top-scored with 58 (32).
Earlier this month, LSG defeated the joint-most successful IPL team by 12 runs to win the previous match. Digvesh Rathi’s 1/21 in four overs earned him the Player of the Match award. MI chased LSG’s 203/8 and ended up on 191/5.
As far as IPL 2025 is concerned, both MI and LSG have secured five wins each heading into this game. The winner of the current fixture will end up further establishing their position in the points table, with the tournament already having entered its second half.
