Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 83 runs in the last IPL 2025 match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first, and opener Ayush Mhatre went ballistic against GT left-arm bowler Arshad Khan, scoring 28 runs to set the tone for the match. Mhatre fell to Prasidh Krishna after scoring 34 off 17 balls, followed by Urvil Patel who hit 37 off 19.
CSK opener Devon Conway struck a cool half-century (52 off 35), but it was Proteas batsman Dewald Brevis who stole the show with 57 off only 23. Prasidh Krishna collected two wickets and conceded 22 runs in his four-over stint.
Chasing 231, the GT top-order went cheaply as skipper Shubman Gill (14), Jos Buttler (5), and Sherfane Rutherford (0) all left early. GT opener Sai Sudharsan (41 off 28) attempted to bring things back, but CSK spinners picked up wickets at regular intervals. Noor Ahmad and Anshul Kamboj each took three wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja claimed two.
Finally, CSK won the fourth match of the competition, bringing their campaign to a successful conclusion. GT stays at the top of the IPL 2025 points table, despite a drop in their net run rate.
