The IPL 2025 ban has resulted in bomb threats against Chennai’s famous MA Chidambaram Stadium. In an email they got about the threat, local police confirmed the occurrence on Friday. Chepauk got similar threats in the midst of the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan near the border areas, following Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium and Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
If the stadium officials went ahead and held a game there, they would be subject to repercussions, including the possibility of a bombing, the email said. An inquiry has been opened by the local police in an attempt to identify the people responsible for the threat. The email’s preliminary analysis, however, did not turn up any important information regarding the problem.
When a bomb disposal unit was dispatched to confirm the danger, they inspected the location and discovered nothing unusual. Police officials informed PTI and the media that no solid evidence was found during the probe.
The police officers who looked into the venue’s bombing threat declared, “It was a hoax.”
