After the 2-1 series victory over Australia that ended with an Indian loss in a Rajkot dead rubber, India Head Coach Rahul Dravid has stated that he is satisfied with India’s preparedness for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
“having game time was vital for players like Jasprit, Ashwin, Shreyas, and KL, and having that against a tough team is a good thing. It’s challenging to achieve that level of intensity in practice games because they are frequently 15 against 15, according to Dravid.
“jasprit bumrah won a few games and completed his allotted 10 overs of bowling. Siraj had a bug, but he recovered and was able to bowl today. The way Ashwin bowled in the first two games was remarkable. kl rahul has been excellent since his return after six months and through fifty overs. The last couple of games have seen some excellent hits from shreyas iyer. Really pleased with the way things are going, and I hope we can maintain it as we approach the World Cup.
Dravid stated that he was pleased with how his teammates played after returning from injuries and other breaks. We have checked off many of the boxes, he insisted, adding that there are always things you can do better. “It’s fantastic to see that the players who have missed time due to injury have been able to play some excellent cricket, spend time in the middle, score some runs, and take some wickets, but there are always tiny things you can do better, in our opinion.
“The tournament will be long and challenging. Even when the outcomes are in our favor, our team is always striving to get better.
Rahul Dravid said that the team, which isn’t yet assembled, will come together in Guwahati for the opening exhibition game against England.
“There have been a few instances of viral (fever) spreading within the group. Due to some returning home for personal reasons and a team leaving tonight for the Asian Games, it was necessary for some players, notably Rutu and Tilak, to join that squad for this game. By the evening of August 28 or the early morning of August 29, I’m anticipating everyone to be in Guwahati, and perhaps the bug that was circulating about the city has disappeared as well.
