Even though the Chennai Super Kings were able to defeat the Mumbai Indians by a comfortable margin in their final IPL 2023 match, the team’s administration must address some concerns immediately. Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali did not play in their seven-wicket victory over MI, and Deepak Chahar was forced to abandon the field after suffering an injury while bowling.
The pacer bowled only one over in the match and may miss a couple of games due to a reoccurring injury to his left hamstring. Notably, he was ruled out of the previous tournament due to a back ailment, and for the same reason, he was far down the pecking order during the T20 World Cup 2022.
While discussing the Deepak Chahar injury, Suresh Raina, a CSK legend, estimates that the pacer will miss at least four to five matches this season. Due to Chennai’s distance from other venues, the team will have to travel extensively, which can contribute to players becoming injured.
“It appears Deepak will miss four to five games. It appears he sustained another hamstring injury, as he appeared in pain. All the other IPL venues are far from Chennai, so there will be a significant amount of travel,” Raina said while providing commentary for Jio Cinema.
Tushar Deshpande possesses a great deal of potential; however, he can develop by being more consistent. Dhoni
Tushar Deshpande, age 27, has had a mixed IPL season so far. In the match against Gujarat, he conceded a large number of runs, but since then, he has substantially improved. MS Dhoni has maintained his faith in the cricketer and stated that he possesses a great deal of potential but still has room for growth.
“We believe in him, and he is under strain as a rookie, but playing in the IPL for several years brings a different kind of pressure.” He had a fantastic domestic season and is advancing. According to Dhoni, as quoted by NDTV, “He has a lot of potential, but he can progress by not bowling no-balls and by being more consistent.”
