Deepak Chahar, a fast bowler for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), hopes to remain injury-free during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The 30-year-old bowler, a vital part of CSK, missed more than eight months due to a stress fracture and a quad grade 3 rupture last year. He rejoined the team for the current season of the lucrative league.
Deepak Chahar says that it is tough for a fast bowler to return from an injury. He stated that he hoped not to contract the illness again and expected to play the entire season.
“I am accustomed to dealing with injuries, but this one lasted longer. At least eight months had passed. Coming back from an injury is difficult for a fast bowler. Deepak Chahar told CSK TV that he hoped he would remain injury-free for the entire season and year.
He remarked that he felt himself extremely fortunate to be a member of a team such as CSK. He went on to explain that if a team had a supportive environment and was continually talking about winning the title, they would reach the finals and win the finals.
“I have been fortunate to be a member of a good team and a good environment. If you have an environment in which everyone is supportive of one another, and if you are always talking about winning the tournament, then you will reach the finals and win the finals,” he continued.
Deepak Chahar was a crucial component of CSK’s 2021 IPL title-winning campaign, taking 14 wickets in 14 matches. CSK purchased him at auction in 2022 for INR 14 crore. He has been with the four-time champions since 2016.
Monday will see CSK host LSG in Chennai.
MS Dhoni and his side will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday, April 3 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai. CSK did not get off to a good start in the IPL 2023 opener, losing to the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31.
Lucknow, on the other hand, defeated Delhi Capitals in their opening match and got off to an enviable start in the competition. With this momentum, the KL Rahul-led squad will try to secure another victory over Chennai and climb the standings.
This will be Chennai’s first home game of the season, and fans will be eager to see Dhoni in what is said to be his final IPL season.
