The first ever season of the South African Twenty20 League will get underway on January 10, with MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals facing off against each other in the opening match of the tournament.
During the last practise session before the start of the South African league, David Miller, the captain of the Paarl Royals, went the additional mile and experimented with a different hitting approach. All of the other teams are currently in the process of preparing for the competition.
The squad that is owned by the Royals organisation turned to Twitter and shared a video of the left-handed Protea hitter attempting to play a shot with his right hand.
“David Miller, right-handed bat?” read the caption underneath the video.
David Miller has a scorching career in Twenty20 Internationals, with a total of 2149 runs scored across 111 appearances, including two centuries and six half-centuries.
In addition, the batter, who is 33 years old and has featured in 105 matches in the Indian Premier League, has scored 2455 runs, including one century and 12 half-centuries. In addition, he was an essential contributor to Gujarat Titan’s win in the IPL 2022.
Jos Butler, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi, Jason Roy, and Eoin Morgan are some of the most successful cricketers in the world, and they are all playing for the Royals, which is a franchise based in Paarl. The Royals have a star-studded line-up, and it is one of the reasons why they are considered one of the best teams in the IPL.
In advance of the auctions, Paarl Royals made pre-purchases of Tabraiz Shamsi, David Miller, Jos Buttler, Obed Mcoy, and Corbin Bosch. Shamsi was the most expensive player in the team’s roster.
Because South Africa will be playing host to England for three World Cup Super League ODIs from the 25th to the 1st of February, the event will be put on hold during those dates.
The championship match for the SA20 will take place on February 11.
