“I am overjoyed that the IOC members decided to make cricket an Olympic sport for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles! One of the most adored and second-most-watched sports in the world is cricket. Cricket is more than simply a sport to the 1.4 billion Indians; it’s a religion! I’m therefore thrilled that this landmark resolution was approved during the 141st IOC Session, which is taking place right here in our nation’s capital of Mumbai. Cricket’s presence in the Olympics will increase interest in the Olympic Movement in newer geographical areas. Nita said in her video message that this also helps to increase cricket’s expanding international popularity.
