Ben Stokes, an all-around player for Chennai Super Kings who has been out for some time, has sustained a new injury that would keep him out of action for yet another week during the upcoming Indian Premier League 2023. The fashionable English cricketer has only been in two games so far, and he hasn’t managed to justify his INR 16.25 crore price.
Ben Stokes will not participate in the action since he is still healing from the injury, according to CSK head coach Stephen Fleming. He also revealed that the 31-year-old’s injury is not serious and that he is working hard to recover quickly so he can rejoin the yellow team.
Fleming gave an update on Stokes’ injury during the post-game press conference following CSK‘s victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), as he stated:
“Ben Stokes will be out for a week due to an injury setback.
Ben Stokes, it’s just a minor setback; I won’t get into details. Simply put, he is nearby. It’s impossible to criticise him for working so hard to correct himself. Therefore, all he needs is a little luck.
Although there have been multiple injuries in the CSK camp, captain MS Dhoni is still taking part in the games despite having a knee injury. Dhoni, 41, was seen walking with a limp after last week’s home game against the Rajasthan Royals, but he came back for the team’s subsequent match and led them to win. Regarding Dhoni’s harm, Fleming continued:
“MS is doing great. He is taking good care of his injury. He is accessible. He constantly puts the team first. He would have stayed home himself if he knew he couldn’t participate due to injury. He is not a cause for concern.
On Friday, April 21, Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets to win their fourth match of the competition. CSK is comfortably occupying the third position in the IPL points table after six games with only two losses. When CSK and Kolkata Knight Riders face off on April 23 at Eden Gardens, they’ll try to keep their winning streak going.
