However, it appears that England abandoned it, leaving the Australian players defenseless. There were earlier rumors that Ben Stokes and his team would not be interested in sharing a drink with the visiting team following the conclusion of an entertaining Ashes series.
On Monday, July 31, another enthralling Ashes match came to a close when England overcame Australia at London’s Kennington Oval by 49 runs to tie the match 2-2. The opposition, however, kept the illustrious urn. After the Ashes, a typical session is held in which the members of the two teams’ teams and support personnel, as well as their friends and families, assemble for drinks.
Later, England’s captain, Ben Stokes, confirmed that some last-minute changes to England’s internal post-match events were what led to the extra time. They were therefore unable to join their peers for their usual drink.
To clarify…
Our wrap took longer than expected because of multiple last time event’s.
We decided to meet up in the night club rather than the dressing room

“To explain… Due to several last-minute events, our wrap up took longer than intended. To dispel the rumors, Stokes sent a message on his Twitter account. “We chose to meet up in the nightclub rather than the dressing room.
Later, renowned cricket author Bharat Sundaresan mentioned that awards were given out in the England camp to recognize the accomplishments of Moeen Ali and Stuart Broad, who are retiring from the sport. The players were unable to have a drink with their Australian counterparts because this took more time.
The two teams appear to have miscommunicated, but this shouldn’t detract from the fact that the Ashes was an exciting match between the two strongest red-ball teams in cricket at the time.
Moeen Ali and Stuart Broad leave the stage in style
Stuart Broad had previously declared that he would be retiring after the fifth Test match at the Kennington Oval in London at the conclusion of Day 3. Moeen Ali, who returned from Test retirement to compete in the Ashes in 2023, was also anticipated to hang up his cleats once again.
In order to help England tie the series, the two men put on a performance on Day 5 of the fifth Test. On Day 5, with all of its wickets in tact, Australia needed 249 runs. Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, and Pat Cummins were all dismissed by Moeen, who overcame an injury to startle the visitors. Stuart Broad, on the other hand, took the final two wickets to end the innings strongly.
