When Mayank Yadav was named in India’s 15-man team for their three-match Twenty20 International Series against Bangladesh, there was a great deal of excitement. When he was given his first cap prior to the toss, the Indian fans’ excitement only increased. Mayank did not let anyone down in his four-over spell, as was to be expected. The pacer’s debut was brilliant, finishing with figures of 4-1-21-1, as he hurried the Bangladeshi hitters from his run-up to his bowling action, giving the impression that everything was happening quickly.
He received appreciation from both Indian cricket experts and enthusiasts as well as from former cricket players from around the world.
In a recent conversation, former Pakistani cricket player Basit Ali praised Mayank’s performance in Gwalior.
In addition to providing a legitimate explanation for Mayank’s inability to reach the 150-plus mark even once, he expressed his desire for the young player to participate in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia as soon as possible.
“Mayank Yadav had a fantastic debut. He began with a maiden and reached a speed of 149.9 kph. He hasn’t been 157 or 158 clicks because he just recovered from an injury. Consider the scenario in which he had received the new ball rather than Hardik Pandya. He made everyone afraid. The hitters did not put him on the front foot, if you guys saw the game. “I hope he stays healthy and travels to Australia,” Basit Ali said in a video posted to his official YouTube account.
Mayank failed to reach the 150 kph mark during his whole four-over spell. But in 17 of the 24 deliveries he bowled, he did surpass 140 kph.
