October 31 was the last day to turn in the retentions list for the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) teams. While many player lists that were made public raised questions, a few of retentions were made as sure shots. The IPL 2025 super auction is set for November 24 and 25, and teams are starting over to develop a strong bidding strategy.
The uncapped local cricket players now have a chance to enter the lucrative league because the franchises have spent a lot of money keeping the top players on their teams. Mumbai’s rising star Ayush Mhatre is one such talent that has attracted the notice of the great MS Dhoni.
According to TOI, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have called Mhatre in for tryouts before the auction. In the just finished Irani Cup match against the Rest of India, the 17-year-old made his Mumbai debut. He made an impression on everyone by amassing 321 runs at an average of 35.66 in five first-class games, including a century and numerous half-centuries. In the current Ranji Trophy season, he had a very impressive performance against Maharashtra. He amassed 176 runs at the BKC stadium.
For Mhatre’s availability, the CEO of CSK emails MCA.
In order to make room for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, the Ranji Trophy 2024–25 will take a break. On November 16, the Ranji Trophy will come to a halt, and on November 23, the SMAT will begin. In the meantime, there are several rumors that Mhatre may be included in the 28-member Mumbai probables for the SMAT. In the six days that have passed between the events, CSK has since called the young batter to come in for trials.
