The T20 World Cup, which took place in the USA and Barbados, was won by team India months ago. Even still, a while has gone by since the competition, and the players are still sharing humorous anecdotes and stories.
It is noteworthy to mention that Axar Patel, Rohit Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, and Shivam Dube recently appeared in the comedy series “The Great Indian Kapil Show” on Netflix. During the show, Axar shared a humorous story about Mohammed Siraj, an Indian pacer.
Notably, former cricketer Dinesh Karthik spoke with Siraj following India’s victory over South Africa in the T20 World Cup final. Siraj was constantly griping, according to Axar, about Karthik’s desire for an English-language interview.
“I don’t know why Dinesh Karthik reached out to us; everyone else knows English, but he conducted our interview in English,” Axar Patel remarked.
Moreover, Axar disclosed that Siraj left the interview in the middle, claiming that his English vocabulary was exhausted. Indeed, we did, but even I’m not sure what I said because Siraj abruptly ended the conversation by claiming that his knowledge of English was complete, according to Axar.
India is still the T20I format leader.
In other news, team India is playing Bangladesh in a three-game Twenty20 International series at the moment. They entered the series having defeated Bangladesh in two Test series matches, 2-0, in Chennai and Kanpur, respectively, to maintain their lead in the WTC rankings.
India defeated the visitors in Gwalior on October 6 to begin the three-match T20I series with a winning start as well. India easily overcame Bangladesh’s first-inning score of 127, needing just seven wickets and more than eight overs remaining to chase them down.
