The 20th match of the ongoing IPL 2024 saw the Mumbai Indians take on the Delhi Capitals at the storied Wankhede Stadium. Delhi chose to bowl first. Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians’ openers, gave the team a strong base from which to launch themselves.
But Axar Patel’s breathtaking catch to remove the dangerous Ishan Kishan in the eleventh over proved to be the game’s turning point.
Kishan fired off a strong shot, but Axar grabbed it out of thin air, leaving Kishan dumbfounded. Kishan made 42 runs off 23 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes, but he was forced to leave the game despite his heroic performance.
When Axar Patel delivered a sharp delivery that sent Rohit Sharma’s stumps flying, he showed off his skill and looked ready for a big innings. With six boundaries and three maximums in just 27 deliveries, Rohit amassed 49 runs. On the other hand, Khaleel Ahmed’s bowling let down Suryakumar Yadav, who was making a comeback following a protracted injury setback, as he was unable to get off to a good start.

The hard-hitting Tim David at the crease and captain Hardik Pandya have combined to score 39 and 23 runs apiece for the Mumbai Indians, who have amassed a total of 167 runs in 17 overs thus far.
