During a recent public engagement in Mumbai, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma gave sweet details about her and husband, cricket player Virat Kohli,’s culinary escapades at home. After welcoming their son Akaay earlier this year, Anushka and Virat have been splitting their time between London and India.
With their kids, Anushka has mostly lived in London, but Virat travels there often when he takes time off from his cricketing duties. Anushka talked candidly about the couple’s attempts to teach their kids the old-fashioned family recipes. She went on to say that the famous couple takes turns in the kitchen and tries to make foods just like their mothers did.
At a Slurrp Farm event, Anushka remarked, “We had this discussion at home that if we don’t make the food our moms made at home, then we won’t be passing these recipes on to our kids.”
Thus, we attempt to cook in the same manner as our mothers did, with me cooking occasionally and my husband cooking other times. I ask my mum for recipes over the phone, which is a little dishonest, but it’s worth it. It feels as though you’re transferring something priceless to your offspring,” Anushka continued.

Additionally, Anushka provided insight into the regimented schedule they uphold for their kids. She added that the sleeping routines and meal times are set in stone.
“I have very certain tastes in routine. As a family, we travel frequently, and my children go through a lot of life changes. So I’m giving them a sense of control by making a routine for them. Meal hours are set; regardless of our location, we eat and sleep at the same times every day. It greatly improves their ability to control themselves,” the actress continued.

Virat Kohli is preparing for the forthcoming home series against Bangladesh in the meantime. However, Anushka hasn’t been in a major motion picture since 2019.
