On Thursday, September 5, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the Duleep Trophy 2024 match between India A and India B, the 19-year-old Musheer Khan struck a magnificent century. Even though India B was losing wickets often, Musheer maintained his composure to score a century that will live in his memory for a very long time.
For India A, Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first in an attempt to take advantage of the surface dampness. Musheer walked out to the middle, and the first batter out was India B captain Abhimanyu Easwaran. As India B moved from 33/0 to 94/7, he witnessed wickets falling from the opposite end.
Musheer had Navdeep Saini to accompany him, and the two of them did a commendable job of blocking the India A bowlers. In the early going, the young player tried to protect Saini as much as possible while farming the strike to extend India B’s innings. Musheer occasionally leaped out of his crease, using a special approach to counteract the seamers’ swing. He played the sweeps and cuts well against the spinners, looking fairly confident.
He managed just six runs off fifty-two balls in the opening session, as the seamers took all the easy pickings. But progressively, especially with the spinners turning, he broke free from the restraints. The right-handed hitter achieved his half-century in 118 balls, earning high appreciation from the pundits for his perseverance and fortitude.
As he approached his centenary, Musheer Khan gained self-assurance. He raced to ninety-two after hitting off-spinner Tanush Kotian for two sixes in the 69th over of the innings. After five overs, he reached the elusive three-figure milestone with 205 deliveries. In just 11 innings, this was his third century in the first class.

After batting on 105 and 29, respectively, Musheer and Saini helped India B finish the day at 202/7. In his fighting knock, the centurion had struck two sixes and ten fours. On Day 2, the pair hopes to expand on their partnership of 108 runs off 212 balls.
