The world’s cricket enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25. Since India has won its last two matches in Australia, there is a lot of excitement surrounding Team India’s next series tour of the country.
The team wants to complete a hat trick, but the Australians want to give India the hardest assignment imaginable. The last time the two teams played in a Test match was during the World Test Championship final, which Australia won.
India is getting ready and assembling their best team for the series as they want to complete a hat trick. Since the T20 World Cup, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been rested, but Mohammed Shami has not yet played for the team. Shami’s return date is unknown; he last competed for India in the ODI World Cup in 2023.
Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, did, however, recently come forth and convey how much the team needs Shami in Australia and how confident he is that he will return in time for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
“Our group is ready as of right now. Jasprit Bumrah has been on rest for some time now. Muhammad Shami is anticipated to be well as well. Now, this Indian side is seasoned. Seniors like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are healthy, according to Jay Shah, who spoke to The Times of India. “Shami is experienced, and we need him in Australia, so he will be there,” he continued.
Shami will need to demonstrate his suitability for the Ranji Trophy: Snehasish Ganguly
Snehasish Ganguly, head of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), also discussed Shami’s comeback to international cricket. He believed that he would need to win the Ranji Trophy to demonstrate his fitness before making a comeback.
