New Delhi, August 12, 2024—As the first Delhi Premier League draws near, star player Ayush Badoni, who will play for the South Delhi Superstars, talks about how excited he is about the league and how it can provide local cricketers important exposure.
“The Delhi Premier League will offer great exposure for players,” stated Ayush Badoni, who has amassed 977 runs in 62 T20s to date.
It will be like a miniature IPL for me. I always feel more confident after playing games like this, and the Delhi cricketers and I will get great exposure.”
The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) is the organisation that introduced the Delhi Premier League (DPL), which will be held at the Shri Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi from August 17 to September 8, 2024. Players like Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Harshit Rana, Yash Dhull, and others will be on six teams: the Purani Dilli 6, Northeast Delhi Strikers, Central Delhi Kings, North Delhi Superstars, and West Delhi Lions.
The 24-year-old batsman commented, “Delhi players are known for their aggressive cricket,” in reference to the possibility of facing elite players. Thus, cricket fans should expect a very competitive and entertaining DPL.”
Playing versus Ishant Sharma is the league’s biggest thrill for me. It will be enjoyable to play against him because we usually joke that he’ll get me out and that I’ll hit him for sixes,” he continued.
The South Delhi Superstars, owned by prominent Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan, selected Badoni as their number one pick. When questioned about Dhawan’s role, Badoni said, “We’ve been talking about the team and our preparations on a regular basis since Shikhar bhai contacted me after the player draft.”
“He has a lot of faith in our team, and things are going well here. Finally, he said, “We’re excited to play and win the DPL trophy.
