There have been some problems with the Indian team’s transportation to Pakistan, where the Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to take place. Frequently, the BCCI has declined to visit Pakistan because of the political issues between the two country.
Notably, Pakistan attended the 2023 ODI World Cup in India and anticipates receiving the similar treatment from the BCCI. At the same time, the Indian government has declined to visit Pakistan, the BCCI recently told the ICC.
According to current sources, the PCB has also written to the ICC, requesting that they offer written confirmation from the BCCI that they are unable to compete in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. They have also been asked to include a written explanation for their decision.
It’s interesting to note that the ICC sent out the announcement that the Indian team would not be visiting Pakistan three days prior to the Champions Trophy’s official launch event, which would have initiated the competition’s 100-day countdown.
And the PCB’s position is still the same as it is now.
The Champions Trophy hybrid format, which was used during the 2023 Asia Cup, will not be accepted, the board confirmed recently.
The switching to a hybrid approach for the Asia Cup last year was one of the main causes of the PCB’s unhappiness with India’s unwillingness to travel. In order to avoid going to Pakistan, the Indian team played their tournament matches in Sri Lanka, where they ultimately won.

The board also stated that no boards objected to Pakistan being chosen to host the Champions Trophy in 2021. The ICC has also been contacted in this regard.
