The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is quickly approaching, and Pakistan is scheduled to host the major event in the first few months of 2025. But, as has been the case for the last ten or so years, there have been some problems with the Indian team’s competition trip to Pakistan.
Notably, the Men in Blue did not visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 either because of the political difficulties between India and Pakistan. India played its matches in Sri Lanka, and the competition was ultimately played under a hybrid style.
The PCB has stated that the ICC has informed them of the BCCI’s decision to skip the high-profile competition in Pakistan, which is the Champions Trophy.
According to sources, the Indian cricket squad lacks government approval to travel to Pakistan for the competition, and the BCCI has also notified the ICC of this.
According cricket sources, the PCB is also considering taking the BCCI to the ICC Dispute Resolution Committee. But for security considerations, the BCCI is adamant about not sending India to Pakistan, regardless of the possible conflict.
The PCB has already complained to the ICC Dispute Resolution Committee about the BCCI, it should be noted. However, that backfired, and because they lacked a solid case, they were fined two million dollars. Apparently, the PCB is adamant that they have a compelling argument to present this time around, despite the prior incidents.
There was no requirement that the Indian squad come to Pakistan when the PCB was granted the opportunity to host the Champions Trophy 2025 in November 2021, according to the reasoning behind the notion.

Additionally, the PCB thinks that the BCCI has never suggested that they won’t be playing in Pakistan during any of the ICC meetings from November 2021 to October 2024.
