Parth Jindal, a co-owner of the Delhi Capitals (DC), has stated that legendary wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will be associated with the team for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season in 2019.
Before the IPL 2025 mega auction, there were rumours that Pant would join other teams, but Jindal’s most recent interview dispelled those rumours. According to the latter, Pant will “definitely” be kept by the Capitals. He also mentioned a few of the talented players from the team from the previous season, such as Abishek Porel, Tristan Stubbs, and Jake Fraser-McGurk, who might be in line to be kept on. He did, however, emphasise that none of the decisions—aside from Pant’s—were final and that Sourav Ganguly, their director of cricket, will consult with them before making a final choice.
“Yes, it is imperative that we hold on. We have a group of excellent players in our squad. Decisions will be made after consulting with GMR and our director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly, as the guidelines have recently been released, Parth Jindal said in an interview with IANS.
“Rishabh Pant will undoubtedly be kept on staff. Regarding retentions, he continued, “We also have Axar Patel, who is outstanding, Tristan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Kuldeep Yadav, Abishek Porel, Mukesh Kumar, and Khaleel Ahmed, all very good players in our team.
We’ll watch the auction to see what occurs: Parth Jindal
In front of the 2025 Indian Premier League, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has issued the retention rules. Six players will be able to stay with their team. Retention or the Right to Match (RTM) option may be used to achieve this.
We’ll watch the auction to see what transpires. But first, we can keep six players in accordance with the rule. Jindal continued, “We will move forward with the auction and see what occurs after discussions regarding our retention plan.

Under Pant’s direction, Delhi won seven and lost the same number of games to finish sixth in the points table the previous year. They intend to put together a formidable team and take no chances in their pursuit of an IPL championship.
