Harare, June 16, 2023: Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) and T Ten Global Sports have announced that the much-anticipated Zim Afro T10 will start on July 20 and end on July 29.
The first T10 tournament, which is built on franchises, will have all of its games in Harare. Six of the teams in the league will be privately owned. The times for the player auction and the schedule of games will be made public soon.
After six successful seasons of T10 cricket in Abu Dhabi, T Ten Global Sports chose to bring the format to other countries around the world. The tournament, which is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe, wants to catch the attention of fans in the country and around the world by bringing some of the best cricket players from around the world to the beautiful city of Harare.
“The introduction of franchise-based cricket in the form of the Zim Afro T10 is a turning point in the history of the game in Zimbabwe,” said ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni. “I am very proud to be a part of it, as it promises to entertain and captivate fans in the country and around the world.”

The Chief Operating Officer of T10 Sports Management, Mr. Rajeev Khanna, said, “July 20 will be a big day for T10 Sports and Zim Afro T10 as we start our journey in Zimbabwe. It has a special place in the history of cricket, and I have no doubt that the cricket fans in this country will enjoy the event.
