In anticipation of the IPL 2025 season, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have named veteran Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan as their team’s mentor. Zaheer’s addition, according to LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka, could greatly improve the team’s chances.
In their three years of existence, LSG has made it to the playoffs twice despite being a very young team, however the IPL championship has eluded them. Goenka expressed his joy at having Zaheer join the team.
“I was drawn to bring him on board by his consistent victories and his intense drive for achievement. I got in touch with him a few weeks ago after realising he wasn’t connected to any cricket team. We discussed, made a decision, and are now in this position. It really is that simple and quick. “We are ecstatic to have him on board and think he will do wonders for LSG’s future,” Goenka recently told the media.

Renowned for his capacity to guide emerging talent, the former pacer conveyed his enthusiasm for the new position. He recognised the potential on the LSG team and the group’s common goal for the future of the franchise.
