In anticipation of the IPL 2025 season, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have named veteran Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan as their team’s mentor. Zaheer’s addition, according to LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka, could greatly improve the team’s chances.
In their three years of existence, LSG has made it to the playoffs twice despite being a very young team, however the IPL championship has eluded them. Goenka expressed his joy at having Zaheer join the team.

An integral part of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning squad, Zaheer has played a significant role in the IPL throughout the years. As the Director of Cricket Operations, he was once employed by the Mumbai Indians and played a crucial role in their coaching staff.
Renowned for his capacity to guide emerging talent, the former pacer conveyed his enthusiasm for the new position. He recognised the potential on the LSG team and the group’s common goal for the future of the franchise.
