After the hosts suffered a series defeat at the hands of the visitors, namely New Zealand, former world champion and India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh shared his comments. Notably, it took the Blackcaps 24 years to accomplish the incredible feat. Singh also shared his opinions on social media regarding the Indians’ performance in a series that was a crucial component of the current World Test Championship (WTC 2023–25).
In the third and final Test of the series, a determined New Zealand team defeated India by 25 runs to achieve a 3-0 clean sweep at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Notably, the last time the Indian team experienced this kind of fate was against South Africa, captained by Hansie Cronje, in 2000. Yuvraj Singh expressed his opinions, referring to the Kiwis’ wild reversal as the “beauty of the game.” For the uninitiated, Team India was declared the T20I format world champions not long ago.
“Don’t you think that cricket is a really humble sport? Only a few months after winning the T20 World Cup, we are facing a historic defeat. This game’s beauty lies in that! There are more difficult challenges ahead with the Australia series, and the best course of action is to reflect, study, and look up! Yuvraj commented on his “X” handle, “Congratulations to the @BLACKCAPS for a tremendous win and a well-rounded performance.

To guarantee a position in the WTC Final, India will go to Australia.
Speaking about the effects of the third Test outcome, Australia rose to the top of the WTC rankings, while Team India now drops to number two. It will therefore be difficult for the Indian team to advance to the WTC final, which is set for June of the following year. The Indian team is scheduled to travel to Australia for a five-match Test series.
As of right now, India will need to win four or more matches in Australia in order to have a chance of competing at the peak. In addition, the performance of veteran Indian players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma worries both cricketing analysts and fans.
