In honour of the team’s historic 2-0 Test series victory over Pakistan last month, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus held a special reception for the Bangladesh cricket team on September 12 at his Tejgaon office.
As Professor Yunus greeted the cricket players with a proud smile on his face, the atmosphere was electrifying. In addition to discussing his experiences as an advisor and ambassador during the Olympics in Paris, he made the announcement that he had been invited to take on a similar role at the Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy, in 2026.
“I had a conversation with the captain following the triumph, but I was really looking forward to meeting each of you in person and offering my congratulations on behalf of the country,” the Chief Advisor remarked to the players.

Bangladesh releases a 16-person team for the India series.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports’ adviser, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, commended the team for their timely triumph while alluded to the achievement’s potential wider effects on the morale of the country. Professor Yunus received a thank you from Najmul Hossain Shanto, the captain of the national squad.
Following this historic victory, the team will travel again and begin a two-match Test series against the formidable Indians on September 19.

The 16-person team was revealed today by BCB. It is noteworthy that Shoriful Islam, a left-arm seamer, has been ruled out due to a groin issue.
