Yash Dhull attracted attention after he amassed 229 runs in four games during the Under-19 World Cup 2022. In the semi-final match against Australia, he scored a tonne of goals, which was a big part of the Indian U19 team’s victory. Furthermore, in 2021–2022, when he made his Ranji debut for Delhi, his abilities were demonstrated. After he hit two century in his opening game, selectors were already thinking about his future.
The right-handed batter’s heart was stopping his beat as he scored 1199 runs at an average of 47.96 to become Delhi’s highest run scorer in the 2022–2023 season. When the medical staff recommended a thorough examination, the 21-year-old at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) was found to have a hole in his heart. Commentators have pointed to rustiness in the batter’s batting in the present Delhi Premier League now that he is back on the pitch following surgery.

In the fifth T20 league match, he chose to take a rest and later played as an Impact Player, switching up his batting position. In addition, despite participating in five league games, he has only scored 93 runs at an average of under 20 and a strike percentage of 113.41. The young man promised to give it everything he had, but his father said that he had a hole in his heart ever since his son was born.

It was not a significant issue. The National Cricket Academy experts suggested a simple surgical treatment because the hole in the heart was a congenital defect. Dhull’s father stated, “He experienced it in Delhi alone, and the BCCI continued to monitor him throughout that time.
