Following his appointment as the head coach of the home team, Yere Goud, a former batter for Karnataka, will now be in charge for the 2024–25 domestic season. He will take over for PV Shashikanth, who is presently relocating to Tripura to take up the same position.
Yere Goud is leaving the Under-23 team after leading them to a record CK Nayudu Trophy victory this year. He had led the senior team the previous four seasons, starting in 2018.
In his previous assignment, Karnataka reached the Vijay Hazare Trophy semifinals, lost in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals, and finished the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy group stage without winning.
With Goud at the helm, the dominant forces of the Indian domestic circuit will be expecting a major boost and possibly adding titles to their already impressive trophy chest.
Throughout 212 innings, Goud, a middle-order batsman with a notable first-class career, amassed an impressive total of 7,650 runs at an average of 45.53. Mansur Ali Khan and Shabarish P. Mohan, who will take over as the bowling and fielding coaches, respectively, will now work with him, enhancing the coaching staff even more for the forthcoming campaign.
