The player list for the next Women’s Premier League auction has been released by the Board of Cricket Council of India. The basic price of the players offered at the auction was also disclosed by the BCCI.
On February 13, 2023, the WPL Auction will take place. 409 players will be up for bid at the auctions for the clubs to choose from.
The much-anticipated Women’s Premier League is scheduled to begin play on March 4 and continue through March 26. On Monday, February 13, 2023, at 2:30 PM IST, the WPL auction is set to start. The auction will also take place in Mumbai, much like the entire event.
In a statement, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that a franchise could buy up to 18 players out of the 409 players who would be up for auction. Along with their base prices, the list of 409 players was also made public. The remaining players are from abroad, leaving 246 Indian players. In addition, 202 of the 409 players available at the auction are capped, with the remaining players being uncapped.
The maximum base price for a player has been set at INR 50 lakh, and the minimum base price is INR 10 lakh. Only eight cricketers from India get a basic salary of INR 50 lakh, and the other sixteen players are from outside.
