Three weeks remain until the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, and New Zealand has revealed their 15-person team for the major competition. The stunning all-rounder Sophie Devine has been selected as the captain of the biannual competition in 2024. The team that will go to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also includes famous cricket player Suzie Bates.
With this formidable combination in the team, they become the only two players to have appeared in every season since the Women’s T20 World Cup’s founding.
We’ll definitely be relying on Sophie Devine and Suze [Bates]’s extensive tournament expertise, which spans from World Cups to franchise leagues.
The express pacer, Rosemary Mair, has returned to the team, and her presence will only increase the White Ferns’ strength. Lea Tahuhu, Jess Kerr, Hannah Rowe, and Molly Penfold, who are the other pacers, will provide her with strong support. Meanwhile, Leigh Kasperek, Melie Kerr, Fran Jonas, and Eden Carson will lead the spin department.
Happy with the team: head coach Ben Sawyer
Head coach of New Zealand Ben Sawyer was cited as stating, “I’m really pleased with this squad; I think these are our best 15 players to adapt to what will likely be varied conditions.” In what promises to be an extremely fierce match.

Rosemary has worked very hard to get ready for this tournament despite an unfortunate sequence of injuries over the past few months. We’re thrilled that she’s coming back since she’s established herself as one of our main pace alternatives.”
