The SLC has given the team management until the end of the week to submit the report after making the request.
The study will make it possible for Sri Lanka Cricket to evaluate and comprehend the circumstances surrounding the squad’s poor performances in the final one-day international, which the side lost by 317 runs after being bowled out for 73 in 22 overs.
India has completed a 3-0 victory in the series. They have also achieved the largest win in terms of runs in the annals of One-Day International cricket, and they are the first side in the history of the sport to achieve a victory by a margin of at least 300 runs.
After India made the decision to bat first, they got off to a fantastic start, with skipper Rohit Sharma (42) contributing to an opening stand with Shubman Gill that scored 95 runs.
Later on, Gill and Virat Kohli put together a second wicket stand that was worth 131 runs, during which Gill reached his second century in an ODI. Gill was eventually run out for 116 runs off of 97 balls.
Virat smashed an unbeaten 166 off 110 balls, which included 12 fours and eight sixes. He did this by taking the bowlers from Sri Lanka on the offensive.
Chamika Karunaratne and Kasun Rajitha each took one wicket for Sri Lanka, and Lahiru Kumara and Kasun Rajitha both took two wickets.
Attempting to reach 391, Sri Lanka was unable to put up a fight, as a powerplay spell from Mohammed Siraj (4/32) destroyed any thoughts of recovery, bringing Lanka’s score to 39/6. The away team was knocked out for just 73 runs and ended up losing the match by 317 runs.
The four wickets that Siraj took for Lanka with his bowling proved to be fatal. Additionally, wickets were taken by Kuldeep Yadav (2/16) and Mohammed Shami (2/20). Nuwanidu Fernando (19), Dasun Shanaka (11), and Kasun Rajitha (13*) were the only three Sri Lankan batters to reach double digits during the match.
The “Man of the Match” award went to Virat Kohli for the century that won the match, and he also received the “Man of the Series” title for scoring 283 runs over the course of the series, which included two hundreds.
