With their sweet message to Yash Dayal, the Kolkata Knight Riders capture hearts. "Chin up, lad, you are champion and going to come back strong."

After everyone had given up on KKR, Rinku Singh wrecked total devastation in what turned out to be one of the most remarkable chases in IPL history. In game 13 of the IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans, the defending champions, batted first and set a difficult target of 205 runs thanks to heroics from Vijay Shankar and Sai Sudharsan. As KKR required 29 runs in the final over, it was Singh who made a complete farce of the objective.

While it appeared that KKR would never be able to win, Singh absolutely destroyed Yash Dayal, who had the ball for the final over, leaving the entire Narendra Modi Stadium in awe. The middle-order batsman smashed five consecutive sixes off the left-arm seamer, forcing him to the ground and winning the game. Dayal had a terrible day, but KKR came up with a very kind gesture to make the bowler feel better.

“Stand tall, lad. Even the best cricket players sometimes have a bad day at the office. After the game, KKR tweeted, “You’re a champion, Yash, and you’re going to bounce back strong.
During the game, GT won the toss and elected to bat first. Sudharsan scored 53 off of 38, while Shankar scored 63* off of 24, helping GT to a respectable total of 204 runs after 20 overs. Narine was the best bowler, taking three wickets while giving up the run at 8.20. Venkatesh Iyer (83 off 40) and Nitish Rana (45 off 29) were the KKR team’s stars for the evening, but Rinku Singh’s brilliance eclipsed them all.

The batsman responded when it mattered most, hitting Dayal for five consecutive sixes in the last over to finish with 48* off 21, giving KKR a three-wicket victory. With what had recently occurred in the game’s closing moments, even Dayal put his face in his hands.
