Former England captain Michael Vaughan, who is well-known for his provocative opinions that frequently spark heated discussions on social media, has made headlines once more after he shared a comparison between Joe Root and Virat Kohli. This occurred following Root’s match of Alastair Cook’s record of 33 Test hundreds against Sri Lanka in the Lord’s Test.
Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik recently admitted in a conversation that, despite the fact that the numbers favour Root, he would pick Kohli since he has seen the latter up close. He went on to suggest that if he had to choose someone to bat for him, he would choose Kohli to let Kohli, possibly taking a covert jab at Vaughan, who has been Karthik’s close ally due to their shared commentary panel for many years.
Virat Kohli is the one I would choose to bat for my life if asked. Indeed,” Karthik said on the program Hey CB with DK.
Many may tell you that Joe Root is the player, but in my heart, I’ve seen him play in close quarters for more than ten years. I am aware of how much he enjoys playing in major events and series. And if you ask him a question, he will respond to you so powerfully that you will find yourself thinking, “Wow, I never thought to ask that question.”

Since the Board of Control for Cricket in India has ordered that quite a few regular international players participate in the Duleep Trophy, Kohli is not playing. India will play ten Test matches over the course of the next three months, and Kohli is anticipated to be a key player in every game that counts towards the World Test Championship.
