When the Pakistan Super League and the Indian Premier League both begin play in 2025, there will be fierce competition between the two

It would be the first time that a Twenty20 league competes directly with the financially lucrative Indian Premier League. It will be interesting to see which competition the players that compete in both leagues choose to enter.

New Delhi:
Due to the fact that Pakistan will be hosting the ICC Champions Trophy during their busy home season in the summer of 2025, the Pakistan Super League and the formidable Indian Premier League are going to be in direct competition with one another. The IPL’s two and half month window starts from March and goes on to the beginning of June. Due to the fact that Pakistan is scheduled to host the Champions Trophy in February 2025, the country’s cricket governing body, the Pakistan Cricket Board, has been compelled to delay the start of the tenth season of its Twenty20 league. Originally scheduled to take place between January and February, the tournament will now take place between March and May.

In approximately 30 years, Pakistan will play host to an International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament for the first time ever: the Champions Trophy in 2025.

Because of concerns regarding the country’s safety, Pakistan was unable to play host to top teams during any of the three prior cycles of the Future Tours and Programmes (FTP).

However, such will not be the case for the upcoming cycle, as Pakistan will play a total of 13 tests, 26 one-day internationals, and 27 Twenty20 internationals at home in addition to competing in the Champions Trophy. This will result in a very busy schedule.

PCB Chief Executive Faisal Hasnain issued a statement in which he said, “While finalising our Future Tours Programme 2023-2027 amid a tight and densely-packed cricket calendar, we have given emphasis to context, quality, and player workload.”
