The host of “The Ranveer Show” posed the question to Ganguly about how he feels about similarities between himself and Kohli based on the aggressiveness of their play.
Both Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli share a number of similar qualities. Both have served as captain of India, and both are recognised for being aggressive and passionate people on the field, both in terms of their conduct and the way they led their teams. Both have both held the position of captain.
It should therefore come as no surprise that parallels are frequently drawn between the two. However, Ganguly, who is currently the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), stated that comparisons should not be made on that premise, but rather on their skills, and he admitted that Kohli is “more skillful” than he was.
The host of “The Ranveer Show” posed the question to Ganguly about how he feels about similarities between himself and Kohli based on the aggressiveness of their play.
Quickly responding, he stated that he did not believe that should be used as a parallel.
“The comparison ought to be made in terms of the players’ overall levels of talent. I believe that he possesses a higher level of talent than I do “He continued on to say that.
“We competed in multiple generations, and we played a significant amount of cricket. I was a player during my generation, and he is going to keep playing well into the next one, likely amassing a greater game collection than I did “Ganguly carried on from there.
“I think I have played more than what he has, but he’ll get past that,” he stated before concluding, “He is fantastic.” “At the present moment, I think I have played more than what he has,”
Despite the fact that Kohli struggled with his form for a lengthy period of time, he made a strong comeback in the Asia Cup, where he scored two fifties and closed the tournament by scoring his first century in a Twenty20 International.
For the first time since November 2019, he scored a century in international competition thanks to his unbroken performance of 122 runs off 61 deliveries.
The legendary batsman now has 71 tonnes scored in international competition, tying him with Ricky Ponting. Only Sachin Tendulkar, who has scored a hundred hundreds, has more runs than this.
