The next season of the Indian Premier League IPL will take place in the year 2023; however, there will be a mini auction that will take place on December 23 in Kochi this year, which is several months before the main event gets underway.
In light of the fact that there will be a total of 405 players up for auction, the 10 participating teams will be striving to make the most efficient use of the remaining prize money at their disposal.
It is important to note that the initial list of 991 players was reduced to 369, and then at the request of the clubs, an additional 36 players were added to the list. This brings the total number of players on the list to a total of 369.
273 of the players are native Indians, while the remaining 132 are from other countries, with 4 of those coming from partner nations.
The overall number of players with caps is 119, while there are 282 players without caps and 4 players from associate nations. At this time, there is a maximum of 87 seats available, with up to 30 of them being designated for players from outside the country.
The Gujarat Titans and the Lucknow Super Giants joined the Indian Premier League earlier this year, which resulted in an increase in the total amount of money that can be won by each club in the tournament to a maximum of 95 crores per side. The franchises will now compete against one another in the mini-auction, which will take place after the big sale in 2022.
Before we get started with the mini-auction in Kochi, let’s take a look at how much money is still up for grabs for each of the ten IPL teams:
