Chakda Xpress, the upcoming film starring Anushka Sharma, is based on the real-life experiences of Jhulan Goswami, a former captain of the Indian cricket team.

On Monday, Bollywood star Anushka Sharma stated that the upcoming film she is starring in, titled “Chakda Xpress,” is a “special film” since it exposed her to the world of women’s cricket. The life of former Indian cricket captain Jhulan Goswami serves as the basis for the biopic that can be streamed on Netflix and was directed by Prosit Roy. During the event that Netflix held in Mumbai to celebrate Films Day, the streaming giant revealed a behind-the-scenes footage of the sports drama along with a personal message from the lead actor. Sharma stated in the video message that she is currently in the United Kingdom working hard on her preparations for the movie in which she will be starring as Goswami.

“Hello, my name is Anushka Sharma, and I’m now in the middle of my preparations for a very important movie that’s going to be titled “Chakda Xpress” in Leeds, which is located in the United Kingdom. The life and times of the renowned bowler and former captain of the Indian cricket team, Jhulan Goswami, served as inspiration for my performance in this role.

The actor, who is 34 years old, stated, “I was absolutely blown away by the writing. It was an eye-opener for me into the world of women’s cricket, as I am sure it will be for you all as well.”

The documentary titled ‘Chakda Xpress’ follows the life of Goswami as she “moves up the ladder despite the hindrances created by misogynistic politics to fulfil her dream of playing cricket for India.”

Sharma has expressed her excitement over the forthcoming release of the film.

“I deeply regret that I was unable to personally attend the screening of this picture. Nevertheless, we are here in order to provide this to you as quickly as possible. I cannot contain my enthusiasm for all of you to see this incredible tale acted out on screen.

“Now, I have to run very literally because I am at my practise session, but I cannot wait to bring this film to you all on Netflix,” she said. “Now, I have to run because I am at my practise session.”

Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Ssharma are the producers of the film ‘Chakda Xpress,’ which was created by Clean Slate Filmz.
