The West Indies, who will share co-hosting duties for the massive event in June 2024, have revealed their fifteen-man team for the T20 World Cup.
The two-time world champions will follow Rovman Powell‘s leadership in the upcoming important competition. The 30-year-old will be looking to contribute as a captain as well as a player, and the West Indies will want to send a strong message to the world following their two-out of-three group-stage losses to Scotland and Ireland in one of the biggest upsets in the tournament’s illustrious history, which prevented them from qualifying for the Super-12 of the 2022 edition.
Shai Hope, Brandon King, and Johnson Charles will make up the top order; Shai Hope is the most experienced player, while the other two are good anchors.
Middle-order players such as Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, the captain himself, Jason Holder, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd are among the most dangerous and potent in the tournament and can pose a serious threat to opposing teams. They are also vital to their respective teams in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
