On Twitter, Sachin Tendulkar, one of the game's all-time great batters, praised Ashwin for his accomplishment. "700 international wickets!" Tendulkar wrote. Wow, what a success.

Currently, Anil Kumble leads all Indian bowlers in wickets taken with 956, and Harbhajan Singh is second with 711.
