On October 21 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the 19th game of the current ODI World Cup 2023 will pit the Netherlands (NED) against Sri Lanka (SL).
The Netherlands are in great spirits following their unexpected victory over South Africa, which was nothing short of a miracle. At Dharamsala’s HPCA Stadium, they achieved a surprise victory. However, Sri Lanka has lost three straight games, with their most recent loss coming at the hands of Australia in Lucknow.
Both teams had to deal with unpredictable playing circumstances. On conducive batting surfaces in Hyderabad, the Netherlands played Pakistan and New Zealand under the captaincy of Scott Edwards. Later, in Dharamsala, they played South Africa, where the pitch presented a more difficult problem. In the meantime, Sri Lanka, captained by Kusal Mendis, met South Africa in Delhi on a pitch that was ideal for batting then ran into Pakistan in Hyderabad on a similar surface.
The two games that were played at the Ekana Stadium had a range of results. In one game, a side found it challenging to overcome a high run chase, and in another, the team batting first found it challenging to quickly score runs.
