Watch What Takes Place When Babar Azam Bats Against Shaheen Afridi in the Nets Below

On February 13, 2019, the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will get under begin with a match between the defending champion Lahore Qalandars and the Multan Sultans.

The tournament will begin with the first match being played in Multan, however the championship match will be played on March 19 in Lahore. The competition will take place in Pakistan, specifically in the cities of Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan respectively.

At the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, faced up against the star bowler, Shaheen Afridi, in the practise nets before the start of the competition.

Shaheen was seen bowling at full speed to Babar in a video that was published by Lahore Qalandars on their official Twitter handle. Babar was seen timing his strikes to perfection during the entire match.

Babar, who has participated in all seven previous seasons of the tournament while playing for Karachi Kings, will now serve as the captain of Peshawar Zalmi in the forthcoming season of the Pakistan Super League. As part of a significant business arrangement, he had become a Zalmi.

After being appointed to his position, Babar was quoted as having said, “It is an honour for me to head the franchise, and I am delighted about the new task.”

According to him, “Peshawar Zalmi is one of the greatest teams of PSL and has done well regularly over the previous several years.” He also stated that “Peshawar Zalmi is one of the finest teams of PSL.”

Zalmi has had a consistent run since their championship win in 2017, making it to the finals in 2018, 2019, and 2021 as well as the eliminator in both 2020 and 2022. In 2017, Zalmi won the title.

Shaheen, on the other hand, was instrumental in Lahore Qalandars winning their first-ever Pakistan Super League title last year and played a pivotal role with the bat.

Notably, Babar is the top scorer in the history of the Pakistan Super League.
