On June 29, Team India and South Africa faced off in the T20 World Cup 2024 Final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. After winning the toss, India chose to bat first. Axar Patel’s tenacious 47 runs and Virat Kohli’s valiant 76 runs helped India record a respectable 176 on the scoreboard.
Indian bowlers began to apply pressure while defending after Jasprit Bumrah hit in his opening over and removed Reeza Hendricks from the game.
Hendricks was unable to respond to a length ball that Bumrah produced, which was moving away lately, when he faced the third ball of the second over. When he attempted to defend the ball, the leather crept in and broke apart his off stump. The angle that Bumrah established with the delivery was beautiful; it appeared fuller from the striker’s perspective, but it recently deflected, leaving the batter in a difficult situation.
In the Twenty20 World Cup Final, Virat Kohli rises to the occasion
Speaking of Virat Kohli’s innings, the star batsman appeared to be in his typical form as he and Axar Patel and Shivam Dube built the innings. After India lost three early wickets, the opener for the team hit three boundaries in the opening over of the innings before switching to a traditional strategy. In the eighteenth over, he picked up speed and hit Kagiso Rabada for a six and a boundary. Before leaving, he faced off against Marco Jansen and scored a maximum and another boundary. Before the game, Rohit had predicted a huge innings from Kohli.
