Following their seven-run victory over South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final last month, the Indian cricket team finally made it back home on Thursday, July 4. They were expected to arrive in India a few days ago, but Hurricane Beryl, which has wreaked havoc throughout the Caribbean islands, left them trapped.
Once in Delhi, the players and their families boarded a couple of opulent buses to take them to the ITC Maurya. A throng of fervent supporters welcomed them with dhols as they made their way to the hotel in Chanakyapuri after getting off the buses. Hardik Pandya, who was instrumental in leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup, gave a heartfelt dance performance for the spectators. Along with Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav was also unable to contain their excitement as they demonstrated their quick footwork to the beat of the dhol.
Virat Kohli, though, made the impish decision to leave the dancing as fans concentrated on Hardik Pandya’s incredible performance.
But the former captain of India grinned, seeing as the all-rounder from Baroda was having fun with the spectators. Head coach Rahul Dravid smiled as he got off the van following Kohli, taken in by the thundering atmosphere.

After seeing Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his home, the Men in Blue had a busy day. They had to fly to Mumbai for a roadshow featuring the T20 World Cup trophy on an open-top bus, which would begin at Nariman Point. Following their triumph, Indian players will also be honoured at the storied Wankhede Stadium, where they will receive INR 125 crore in prize money, as revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
As India celebrates a historic victory, fans are rushing to get ready to give their heroes an unforgettable welcome.
